Description
Chromolithograph depicts the Battle of Shiloh. The battle takes place in a forest with a dirt road cutting through the trees. The scene is chaotic with men running and cannons exploding. The majority of the soldiers depicted are from the Union Army. General Grant is pictured on horseback on the right. For more information on this and other Prang Civil War chromolithographs, see Prang's Civil War Pictures: the Complete Battle Chromos of Louis Prang with the Full "Descriptive Texts" edited and with an introduction by Harold Holzer.
