Description
This print is a photographic reproduction of a charcoal drawing done by M. Leone Bracker in 1934 of a scene in the Lincoln family cabin in Indiana. The image depicts a young Abraham Lincoln on the floor in front of his mother who is seated in a chair. She appears to be reading to Abe while he writes on a board propped on a stool. The light in the cabin appears to be from the fireplace behind Mrs. Lincoln. The title and publication information appear in the lower margin: "Created exclusively for and presented with the compliments of The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company. The artist's signature and date are printed in the upper right corner of the image. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
