This broadside is a proclamation by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Levi Lincoln, informing the people of Massachusetts that he with the consent of the Executive Council has appointed Thursday, the 27th day of November next to be celebrated with thanksgiving and praise throughout the Commonwealth. The proclamation is dated October 20, 1828. The proclamation is printed in large size font so that copies could be posted for all to read. Levi Lincoln was an ancestor of President Abraham Lincoln.
