'I am satisfied that Dr. Daily is not a proper person to fill such a position & that his appointment will be very distasteful to the people at Madison & the church to which he belongs.' Hon A Lincoln President US—
Dear Sir      I see by the papers that Revd Wm M Daily is to be appointed Hospital Chaplain at Madison Indiana. I am satisfied that Dr. Daily is not a proper person to fill such a position & that his appointment will be very distasteful to the people at Madison & to the Church to which he belongs
