Description

This lithograph is plate four in a series of six anti-Lincoln cartoon prints originally drawn in 1864 by artist L. H. Stephens. This print depicts President Abraham Lincoln holding a small doll-like man and pulling on his puppet string. The doll wears a General's hat, has a large moustache, and has both arms and legs extended. A quote bubble from Lincoln's mouth reads, "Ingenious thing! Very!" The print is titled across the bottom margin, "Lincoln's Ingenious Toy." Part of The Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
