Description
This print features a young, beardless Abraham Lincoln inside of Mentor Graham's home near New Salem, Illinois. Graham was the local schoolteacher who claimed to have taught English grammar to Lincoln. He also claimed that Lincoln lived with him for about six months in 1833. In this print Lincoln is depicted walking towards Graham's bookshelf and underneath there is a quote by Graham. "When Lincoln came into our house that first time, he walked straight to my bookshelf and straight into my heart."
