Description

This color postcard features an interior view in the reconstructed Rutledge Tavern located in New Salem State Park near Petersburg, Illinois. The fireplace with a table in front of it holding meal preparation containers is the central image. Various dishes and ceramic jugs sit on a shelf above the fireplace with cooking utensils hanging from the edge of the shelf. A cabinet with a clock on top is on the left side of the fireplace. A door can be seen at the left edge of the postcard. Part of a table and chairs are seen in the lower left corner. The postcard reverse is divided vertically with narrative text printed on the left side. The numbers N-1014 and 63831-B are printed in the lower left corner.
