Description
This broadside announces a proclamation by Governor Levi Lincoln for a day of thanksgiving and praise on Thursday, November 24, 1825, in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The last paragraph of the proclamation reads "And the people of the Commonwealth are requested to abstain from such labors and amusements as are inconsistent with the religious services of the occasion." The proclamation is date October 21st, 1825, and signed by Governor Levi Lincoln who was an ancestor of President Abraham Lincoln.
