Description

a) This short bust of Abraham Lincoln is a replica of the original done by sculptor Leonard Wells Volk in 1860. Lincoln is shown clean shaven and directly facing the viewer. The bust is a dark copper color and rests on a small square pedestal. On the back of the pedestal is an engraving that was originally part of the casting mold which reads, "Abraham Lincoln Modelled From Life By Leonard W. Volk Chicago, 1860 Replica." b) is a tall marble pedestal that the bust sets on simulating the height of Abraham Lincoln. For more information on the sculptural studies of Lincoln by Leonard W.
