Description

This print is a reproduction from a 19th century reprint of the Ford's Theatre playbill for the performance of the play "Our American Cousin" on the night of April 14th, 1865. In this souvenir version of the April 14, 1865, playbill a notice that President Lincoln would be attending the performance that evening was added below the date. In a large-sized font is the notice that this night's performance proceeds would benefit Miss Laura Keene who was playing the lead role. Below the list of characters and actors are notices for performances the following night and Monday night followed by a list of the prices of admission. Most of the fonts used to print this souvenir are different from those used to print the original playbill in April 1865.
