This print features President-elect Abraham Lincoln about to board the train for his inaugural journey to Washington, D. C. He is shown standing beside Dr. William Wallace with a soldier behind them and a crowd of people gathered on the opposite side of the railroad car. The text below the image reads, "Lincoln and his personal physician, Dr. William Smith Wallace, prepare to board the special train at Springfield, Illinois, on February 11, 1861, for the long trip to Washington, D.
