Description

This lithograph depicts Satan whispering in the ear of Lincoln's assassin, John Wilkes Booth and pressing a gun into Booth's hand. Booth stands erect in three-quarter profile, his left arm behind his back, staring straight ahead to the viewer's left. Satan points with his left hand towards an unsuspecting Lincoln seated in his theater box in the background. Satan wears a peacock feather tucked behind his ear. The title is printed below the image.
