This postcard features a reproduction of a sketch of the Capitol Building in Vandalia, Illinois, done by artist Josephine Burtschi. Vandalia was the Illinois state capital from 1819 to 1839. Abraham Lincoln was a member of the Illinois State Assembly which met in this building. The reverse is divided in half vertically with narrative text at the top of the left half.
