Description

Two red, white, and blue grosgrain American flag ribbons with a gold-colored ribbon between are attached to a narrow metal bar at the top which is attached to the bottom of a bronze patriotic eagle pin. An oval-shaped medal with the letters GAR enameled in red, white, and blue in the center, a banner above with the word "Representative" in red, and "Salt Lake City, Utah" embossed underneath is attached to the bottom of the eagle pin. A decorative white metal medallion with a trillium painted on a blue background in the center is attached to the GAR medal above. Attached to the decorative medallion is a round bronze medallion featuring a left-profile bust of President Abraham Lincoln in relief and the embossed quotation "With malice toward none, with charity for all" following the curve of the edge. The dates 1809 and 1909 are embossed at shoulder-level on either side of the bust. The reverse of the bronze medallion features a patriotic eagle at the bottom with laurel and oakleaf branches extending upward along the edge. In the center the embossed text reads " The 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Abraham Lincoln" and "The 43rd National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic, Aug. 9-14, 1909."
