Description

This colored postcard features oval cut head and shoulders portraits of President Abraham Lincoln on the right and and three-time Democratic presidential candidate William Jennings Bryan from Nebraska on the left. President Lincoln was most likely included so the postcard could be sold as a souvenir of the Centennial Anniversary of his birth nation-wide celebration. The caption is printed in between the portraits, "The Man Who Made Lincoln, Nebraska, Famous." The postcard reverse is divided. On the left side is a handwritten note in pencil from Jim to Mrs. A L Young of South Athol, Massachusetts. The Chicago, Illinois, postmark is dated August 6, 1908.
