Description

This collector's coin holder consists of a cardboard top with a paper backing. The top has a pale yellow background with a large cinnamon-colored medallion printed on the top half with the title printed around the edge and a right-profile head and shoulders portrait of President Abraham Lincoln in the center. A blank space below the portrait has a handwritten slogan in ink as an example for company advertising: "Save your pennies and buy at low rates. From The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, Fort Wayne, Ind." Individual places for the coins start in the upper corners with the year 1909 and continue around the medallion. The remainder of the slots are in six rows of ten on the bottom half of the board going through the year 1939. Each slot has the date with the letter indicating the mint where the coin was produced printed below. A decorative rectangular border surrounds all of the above. The title and explanatory text are printed on the reverse as well as the publisher's information. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
