Description

This broadside announces a political rally for the 1860 presidential election in which the Republican candidates for president and vice president were Abraham Lincoln and Hannibal Hamlin. Pennsylvania governor Andrew Curtin was a strong supporter of Lincoln. The meeting was held on October 6, 1860, with James J. Creigh, Esq., as the main speaker. "All in favor of the cause are invited to attend." The illustration between the two horizontal black lines is upside down and backwards as well as being so light that the eagle is almost impossible to see.
