Description

This 62-page book features the typed text of twenty-six original documents and letters deemed important to United States history by the editor. The documents begin chronologically in 1776 with the first page of Thomas Jefferson's original draft of the Declaration of Independence with interpolations by Benjamin Franklin and John Adams. The last document text includes General Grant's terms of surrender to General Lee in 1865.
