Description
This print is an advertisement for Cheneaux Bond paper by the Canadian E. B. Eddy Company paper mill using President Abraham Lincoln's name, image, and historical event. It was published by the Canadian national trade journal "The Canadian Weekly Editor" in April, 1960. On the viewer's left is an illustration of President Lincoln seated with pencil and paper in hand. The title is "Man, Paper, and the Course of History: The Man Who Rebuilt the Heart of His Nation." The text gives a brief overview of the events in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on November 18-19, 1863, where President Lincoln gave his well-known Gettysburg Address at the dedication of the National Cemetery there. On the viewer's right is the advertisement for Cheneaux Bond paper below which is an illustration of President Lincoln delivering his speech.
