Description

This print depicts President Abraham Lincoln's right profile as a part of a landscape scene. His hair is made up of the leaves from the top of a tree, and his sideburns/some of his beard are the tree's trunk that extends to the ground. The rest of his beard is made of bushes and foliage growing up from the ground. His ear, cheeks, forehead, and the back of his neck are composed of the empty space between the branches/rocks and leaves of the tree. His eye, nose, and beard are made from curling foliage that emerges from the rock formation. The foreground is composed of grasses and rocks. The title, "Nature's Tribute," is located on the bottom edge in the center, and the copyright information is in the lower left corner of the image. The artist's signature is located near the lower right corner of the image underneath the rock formation. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
