Description

This linen postcard features a view from the opposite side of the Tidal Basin from the Lincoln Memorial located in Potomac Park on the banks of the Potomac River in Washington, D. C. The building is in the upper center of the post card with several trees in front of it. The building and the trees are reflected in the water. The Japanese Cherry trees seen in full pink bloom on either side of the building are accented with the early spring green growth of the surrounding foliage and all are mirrored in the placid water. A gold-colored 3/16 inch border surrounds the image. The title is printed in the top margin with the number 121 in front. The number 1A-H323 is printed in a smaller font in the lower right corner of the border. The reverse of the postcard is divided in half with the caption for the scene printed at the top of the left half. The text printed vertically to divide the reverse in half reads "Genuine Curteich-Chicago 'C.T. Art-colortone' post card."
