Description

This postcard feature a view from the opposite side of the Tidal Basin from the Lincoln Memorial located in Potomac Park on the banks of the Potomac River in Washington, D. C. The building is in the upper center of the post card with several trees in front of it. The building and the trees are reflected in the water. The Japanese Cherry trees seen in full pink bloom on either side of the building are accented with the early spring green growth of the surrounding foliage and all are mirrored in the placid water. The reverse of the post card is divided in half with a vertical brown line with the number D-11 printed near the top. The title is printed at the top and the caption printed at the bottom of the left half with space between for a note from the sender. A note on the right half of the card indicates that the space is reserved for the recipient's address. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
