Description

This broadside is a reproduction of an original notice of the sale of slaves on May 16, 1835, in New Orleans, Louisiana, due to the fact that the owner was moving to Europe. The original broadside is in the collection of the New York Historical Society. The notice lists 10 slaves by name and giving for each one his/her heritage, age, languages spoken, and talents and experience. The terms of sale are printed at the end.
