An eagle is perched to her left. In the background appears a large ship on the proper right, and a train in the proper left. Below the image "HALLECK GUARD!" is printed in large letters, followed by the name, "Col. Elias Peissner". More details are given about the recruitment process in the next thirteen lines. In small print, "BAKER & GODWIN. Printers, Printing-House Square. cor Nassau and Spruce Streets, New York." is at the bottom. All the text on the poster is in red and blue, alternately.
