Description

This lithograph features a head and shoulders portrait of American abolitionist John Brown. Brown was hanged for treason on December 2, 1859, the same year in which this portrait print was published. Brown is depicted turned toward the viewer's right but facing forward. A facsimile signature is printed in the margin below the image.
