Description

This 69-page book features a narrative about the James Harlan Family connection to Iowa Wesleyan College and Mount Pleasant, Iowa, beginning in 1846 when he and his wife moved to Iowa City from Missouri. The narrative widens to include the family of Robert Todd Lincoln beginning with his marriage to Mary Harlan in 1868 and continuing through the life and death of their great-grandchildren. The narrative is accompanied by photographs of all of the family members as well as of the family homes and the Iowa Wesleyan College. A bibliography of sources appears on pages 67-68.
