- Handwritten letter, 18 cm, on stationery with mourning borders. Elizabeth Grimsley Brown apologizes to "My dear Bob" for missing his telegrams and not traveling to Chicago in time to aid in the jury hearing against Mary Todd Lincoln. She continues to offer her support to both Robert and Mary and hopes Mary could "be induced to go to a private asylum" based on medical advice.
