Description

This print depicts Henry Clay as a young man, seated at a table, his head turned to the viewer's right. His short hair is slightly tousled, and he wears his sideburns long. He wears a dark jacket with brass buttons, a white vest, white shirt, and white neck tie. He holds a long document in his hand, one end resting on a table along with an inkwell and quill. The print has been cropped and some of the type along the bottom has been lost. The center margin reads, "Washington City: Published by Benjamin O. Tyler."
