Description

This tinted postcard features the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., built to honor Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth president of the United States. Dedicated in 1922, the building, constructed in the form of a Greek Doric temple, stands opposite of the Washington Memorial on the western end of the National Mall. A white border surrounds the entire image with the caption printed in the bottom margin. The postcard reverse is divided. A brief advertisement for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad is on the left side. Stamped across the width of the postcard in black ink is "The Lincoln National Life Foundation, Fort Wayne, Indiana."
