Fairfield, Iowa, Sept. 28th 1864. Hon. A. Lincoln President U.S. Washington, D.C. Sir: This note will be handed to you by Rev. Dr. Power of this state, who will visit Washington to secure the exchange of his son who is now a prisoner in the hands of the rebels. Dr. Power is a presiding elder in the M. E. Church, and a most worthy, loyal christian man. I beg you to do whatever can be done to further the object of Dr. Powers visit. Yours truly James F. Wilson
