Description
This color postcard features one of the bas relief limestone panels on the exterior of the promenade connecting the Lincoln Memorial Chapel and the Lincoln Memorial Building in the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial near Lincoln City, Indiana. The panel is titled "And Now He Belongs to the Ages" and represents Abraham Lincoln's enduring spirit as a source of inspiration to a grieving nation. The sculpture depicts his spirit surrounded by a farmer, a laborer, a family, and a freedman on the left and Cleo, the Muse of History beside Columbia holding a wreath on his right. The postcard reverse is divided with the caption and narrative text printed on the left side. The number 93187 is printed along the lower edge near the middle.
