Description

This photogravure was done from a photograph of President Abraham Lincoln taken on November 8, 1863, in Washington, D.C. by Alexander Gardner. It is cropped to a head and shoulders portrait and shows Lincoln wearing a black frock coat, a black waistcoat, a white collared shirt, and a black bow tie. The portrait is cropped to an oval, and the copyright information is printed in cursive script just outside the lower edge of the photograph.
