Abraham and Mary Lincoln can be seen talking to a passerby in front of the house in the foreground. A woman and small child stand at the top of the steps that lead up to the house, while a man sits on the porch with another reading a newspaper in front of him. A man and woman walk on the sidewalk alongside the house on the right. Text in the margin reads: "Drawn by Paul Dixon from a sketch by W. Waud, published and engraved by John C.
