Description

This postcard features a log cabin in a rural setting. The caption in the upper right corner reads: "Lincoln's First School on Knob Creek-- From an old painting." The number 35976 is printed in the lower left corner of the image. The image is surrounded by a white border. The postcard reverse is divided. A poem about the schoolhouse is printed on the left side: "A country schoolhouse, old and gray, Where little Abe sat, in a by-gone day, With never a thought, o'er his A B C, Of how in the far-off time to be, The great world's honor would be brought To the place where he had once been taught."
