Description

This engraving was done from a photograph by James A. McGill of a cabin in southern Indiana probably about 30 years after the Lincoln family left Indiana. The cabin might have been the last one the Lincolns built just before they moved to Illinois. The engraving shows the front of the cabin with the door open and a window on each side of the door. One person is seated in the doorway while two others stand on the porch just to the right. There is a fence shown with the gate standing open and a loose rail in the section to the right.of it. Corn is growing to the viewer's left of the cabin. Trees are to the viewer's right of the cabin. Clouds are shown in the background.
