Description

This color postcard features a reproduction of an original drawing of the Mary Rutledge cabin located near Birmingham, Iowa. Mary Ann Rutledge was the mother of Ann Rutledge who allegedly was Abraham Lincoln's sweetheart when he first lived in New Salem, illinois. Lincoln was said to have been devastated by her untimely death in 1835. The caption is printed in the lower right corner of the image. The postcard reverse is divided.
