Description

This print is the final page of the Messenger Corporation's Historical Art Calendar for 1936. The poster shows a small illustration for the article on the signers of the Declaration of Independence, a small portrait of artist Newell Converse Wyeth with a short article about his painting "Ringing Out Liberty," and a small illustration of a young Abraham Lincoln studying by firelight along with an abbreviated story of his early life. At the end of the poster is a suggestion that the historical paintings reproduced in the calendar annually be preserved for framing or scrapbook. A note mentions that the daily entries contain an important event of which that day is the anniversary making the calendar ideal for school children.
