Description

This postcard features a view of the Lincoln Memorial Building with the Japanese Cherry trees in full bloom in front along the bank of the Potomac River. The viewer is looking through the branches of more blooming Japanese Cherry trees from the opposite side of the river. Along with a canoe on the river the reflection of the building and trees can be seen in the water. The number 20745 is printed in black ink in the lower left corner of the image. A narrow white border surrounds the image with the title printed in the top margin. The reverse is divided in half with a vertical blue line. The caption describing the obverse is printed at the bottom of the left half. A handwritten note in blue ink is written vertically above the caption beginning with Dear Myrtle, and ending with Love, Irene. The recipient's address is written on the right half with a 1-cent stamp in the upper right corner. The postal cancellation across the top is dated Mar 27, 1933, 2-PM, Washington, D. C.
