Description

This tinted postcard features a view of Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C., where President Abraham Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth while sitting in the president's box on April 14, 1856. The three-storiy building is depicted with red and white striped awnings on each of the windows. An early automobile is depicted on the street with a lady stepping into it. Two women and three men are shown seated or standing near the theatre door. The caption is printed in the top margin. The postcard reverse is divided.
