Description

This print cataloged by the publisher as The Lincoln Poster is part of Series G-784. It features a large head shoulders portrait of President Abraham Lincoln framed in a red, white, and blue oval border on the top half of the poster. A stylized patriotic eagle is at the top of the oval with olive branches and a title banner below the oval. Below the banner is the text of President Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and beneath that is a short biography titled "From Log Cabin to White House." A calendar page for January 1935 is pasted on top of the text so that the bottom of the page can be lifted to read the biography. The company name and motto are printed in black ink above the portrait. Extending down the poster, eight on each side of the portrait, are small rectangular labeled illustrations of events in President Lincoln's life from his birthplace cabin to his deathbed as well as the White House and the Lincoln Memorial. A red, white, and blue rectangular border finishes the poster to the edges. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
