Description
This print features the birthplace cabin, President Abraham Lincoln, and the Capitol Building. The cabin is depicted in the lower left corner with a split rail fence in the foreground. A head and shoulders portrait of Lincoln is depicted in the upper left corner wearing a black frock coat, waistcoat, and bow tie. The Capitol Building is depicted in the upper right corner. Faint stars and stripes form the background behind Lincoln and the Capitol Building. In the lower right corner, is a scroll with a quotation from Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, "Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth." In the margin below the image are the title and the artist's information.
