Description
This cotton 1860 campaign flag features seven red stripes and six white stripes. "For President, John C. Breckenridge. Vice President, Joseph Lane." is stamped in the middle of the flag in blue with Breckinridge spelled incorrectly. Thirty-one white stars are printed in a tight cluster of rings on a blue canton in the top inner corner. The flag is mounted on a tan, fabric-covered board. John Breckinridge, the presidential candidate for the Southern Democratic Party, was one of four presidential candidates running in the 1860 election.
