Description
This small United States flag has thirteen red and white stripes and a small blue field in the top proper right corner with thirty-four stars arranged in the shape of a larger star. The flag is trimmed on three sides with black silk fabric. A black silk net rosette is attached in the proper right upper corner near the blue stars field. The black trim added to the flag symbolized mourning. This flag was used at the time of President Lincoln's funeral services in 1865. For more information about flags and banners in this collection, see "Lincoln Lore" issue number 1522, December 1964.
