Description

Bright yellow ribbon to celebrate the Semi-Centennial anniversary of the seven debates between U. S. Senate candidate Abraham Lincoln and incumbent Stephen Douglas in 1858. All text and image are stamped in black. Top edge of the ribbon has text that reads, "Survivor 1858...1908." The central image of Lincoln and Douglas in oval frames is surrounded by U.S. flags and an eagle perched on top of the ovals. The text on the lower quarter of the ribbon reads, "Semi-Centennial Celebration Ottawa, Illinois Aug.21, 1908." Top and bottom edges of ribbon are very frayed.
