Description

Quilt is made up of large cream colored blocks, each appliqued with a large rooster. The rooster's body is made out of green polka-dot fabric, and its legs, wings and beak are made out of red polka-dot fabric. There are four rows and four columns of squares of roosters for a total of 16 blocks and 16 roosters. The squares are pieced together, and there is diagonal hand quilting in both directions all across the whole quilt forming diamond shapes. The quilt features a red polka-dot interior border, a green polka-dot exterior border, and cream-colored binding. The back is made up of solid cream fabric, and there is thin batting in between the two sides. Part of The Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum b
