Description

White silk Abraham Lincoln ribbon features a bronze embroidered portrait of Lincoln wearing a dark jacket, vest, and bow tie and a white shirt. The ovular portrait is surrounded by a frame with an inset ring of stars. An eagle with an olive branch in its beak and arrows clenched in its talons is perched on a streamer at the top of the portrait frame. The streamer reads, "With Charity to all, with malice for none." Two American flags cross at the bottom of the frame. Columbia is shown in a pose of mourning within the folds of one of the flags. Green branches and a red, white, and blue shield are embroidered at the woman's feet. A streamer across the shield reads, "Union Forever, 1776-1865." "A. Lincoln" is embroidered at the bottom of the ribbon. The maker's name and location are embroidered around the frame.
