Description
This sepia-toned postcard features a full-length portrait of President Abraham Lincoln along with a quotation from his Gettysburg Address. The portrait is reproduced from a photograph taken of President Lincoln on February 24, 1861, in Washington, D. C. A small illustration of young Abraham Lincoln studying a book by the light of the fireplace is in the upper right corner. A small illustration of President Lincoln speaking at the dedication ceremony for the National Cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is in the lower right corner with the quotation printed between the illustrations. The postcard reverse is divided. This item is a duplicate of 71.2009.083.2533 without the advertising on the reverse.
