Description

This color postcard features a head and shoulders portrait of President Abraham Lincoln done from a photograph taken of him on November 8, 1863, in Washington, D. C. The portrait is shown against an oval wood grain background. A facsimile signature is printed below the oval and inside two crossed laurel branches. President Lincoln's birth and death years are printed in the lower corners. The postcard reverse is divided and has narrative text printed on the left side. Also on the left side is a handwritten note in blue ink from Bob to Alice O'Reilly of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Vincennes, Indiana, postmark is dated April 29, 1975.
