Description

This U. S. postal card addressed to Dr. Louis A. Warren of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was postmarked on February 12, 1940, the first day of operation of the Lincoln's New Salem post office. An illustration of a log cabin with a border around it reading "Lincoln's New Salem Post Office" is stamped in brown ink on the reverse. A handwritten note in black ink over the illustration reads "Just a line from our newest Post Office opened today. Yours truly, Benjamin S. DeBoice."
