Description
This postcard features illustrations of four Abraham Lincoln-related landmarks in or near Springfield, Illinois: The Old State Capitol building, the Lincoln Family Home, the Lincoln Monument in Oak Ridge Cemetery, and a log cabin representative of Lincoln's years living in New Salem, Illinois. A head and shoulders portrait of President Abraham Lincoln is in the lower right quadrant of the postcard. The caption "Visit Springfield Illinois" is printed above the illustrations. "See the Heart of Lincoln Land" is printed below the illustrations. The postcard reverse is divided with narrative text printed on the left side. A typed note to Gerald McMurtry of Fort Wayne, Indiana, from Wayne [Temple of Springfield] is below the text. The postmark is dated 1967.
